A left hand injury is expected to keep interim light-Heavyweight champion Pavel Zhuravlev sidelined for the next three months.
‘The Caiman’ says the injury is bad enough that it may possibly require surgery and that at present “all options are being weighed”.
Zhuravlev last competed at GLORY 52 LOS ANGELES, where he took a unanimous decision win over Myron Dennis.
That win put him 3-1 in GLORY and on a three-fight win streak.
As the reigning interim champion he would have been in line to face champion Artem Vakhitov at GLORY 56 DENVER in August for a title unification bout.
But with the injury keeping him out of action, and Zinedine Hameur-Lain getting married the week of GLORY 56, Vakhitov will now face former #1 light-Heavyweight Danyo Ilunga instead.
GLORY 56 DENVER takes place Friday, August 10 at the 1st BANK CENTER in Broomfield, Colorado.
